LITTLE ROCK, AR — Chris Jones, the Democratic candidate for Arkansas’s 2nd Congressional District, announced today that Vice President Kamala D. Harris has endorsed his campaign to unseat Republican incumbent French Hill.

Jones was quick to give credit where it’s due, both to his neighbors across the district and to the Vice President. “Arkansans are fed up with rising costs and have been putting in the work to make their voices heard. I’m honored Vice President Harris is standing with us. Her support means a great deal to this campaign and to the people of AR-02.”

The endorsement comes as Jones leads Hill 48 to 44 in the most recent independent poll from Talk Business & Politics and Hendrix College, and follows the DCCC naming AR-02 a “District in Play.”

“At a moment when so many people are hurting – when the cost of housing, groceries, gas, health care, and child care is squeezing families – Dr. Chris Jones has made it clear that he will work every day to lower costs,” said Vice President Kamala D. Harris. “Arkansans deserve a fighter in their corner, and Chris Jones has shown he is ready to fight for the people. I’m proud to support him in this race.”

Jones has kept his campaign centered on affordability and accountability. He has repeatedly pointed to Hill’s record as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, including his vote allowing banks to raise overdraft and other fees on Arkansans who can least afford them.

“Families in this district are tired of being an afterthought. French Hill is the most powerful banker in Congress and he’s made it clear that he won’t use his power for working families across Arkansas,” Jones said. “From the very beginning, this campaign has been about focusing on families here in Arkansas and the everyday struggles they face.
