LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has officially designated Arkansas’s 2nd Congressional District as a “District in Play,” a recognition of the momentum that has been building across Central Arkansas through months of organizing, community conversations, and voter engagement led by Arkansans themselves, and confirmation of what we already know: AR-02 is positioned to flip.
The designation reflects growing attention to a race that has steadily gained traction on the ground as voters across the district look for leadership focused on affordability and accountability for all Arkansans.
“This designation reflects the momentum that’s been building across Central Arkansas. We are here not because of insiders in Washington, but because neighbors are talking to neighbors, volunteers are knocking on doors, and people believe our district deserves better,” said Dr. Chris Jones. “Today’s announcement confirms what we’ve been seeing on the ground for months: this race is competitive because Arkansans are demanding new leadership.
“The path to victory has always run through Arkansas. We’re building a coalition focused on practical leadership, accountability, and real results. That coalition is growing every day, and I believe it’s going to make history this November.”
The DCCC’s Districts in Play list identifies key congressional races that are considered competitive and worthy of national attention as parties compete for control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
